Meet Dr. Amanda Flowers, Owner Peak Performance, PT, DPT
Dr. Amanda received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 2008. She practiced in private practice for 10 years and decided she could deliver the best treatment strategies by starting her own business in August of 2017. She has a passion for dry needling and treating shoulder pathologies by developing lasting treatment strategies. She excels in complex cases including chronic injury with movement dysfunction and injuries related to Crossfit and endurance athletes. Dr. Amanda has been using dry needling as a treatment technique since 2014 and was trained by Kinetacore, the company that trains the US military.
She has put her dry needling skills to good use on several pitchers of the Campbell Baseball team and a US Rugby player. Amanda enjoys working with the athletes of CrossFit, USTA tennis, endurance runners and triathletes, often using dry needling to help them recover from the rigors of training.

Meet Brandon Walker, PT, DPT, CSCS
Certified in dry needling
The American Physical Therapy Association states, "Physical therapists are movement experts who treat people of all ages and abilities, helping them improve and maintain function and quality of life." Peak Performance will assess and diagnose your problem areas and create an individualized treatment plan so that you can avoid surgery, return to normal movement patterns, and achieve your next goal.
Dry needling is a treatment for muscular tightness and spasm. These areas of tightness or spasm are commonly referred to as trigger points. Trigger points are defined as the presence of exquisite tenderness in a nodule in a taut band of muscle, and may elicit a twitch in response to pressure. Trigger points can develop from injuries, postural faults, or a disease processes.
The muscular tightness or spasm that develops from an injury or disease process can cause compression and irritation of the nerves exiting the spine and anywhere along their pathway. When the nerves are irritated they can cause a protective spasm to any of the muscles along their pathway. Care must be directed both centrally to take care of the origin of the pain and peripherally to reduce symptoms from the central compression.
Peak Performance is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, our goal is to assess your movement patterns to create a detailed diagnoses and give you specific exercises to help you gain a pain free lifestyle and athletic life. We can also clear from your injury or surgery so you can return to your sport or favorite activity.
With our SFMA certification, we are certified to assess your performance and movement so that you can effectively and efficiently participate in your sport or workout without risk of injury. We will coach you to train with precision and purpose so that you can uncover your hidden potential. We will also help you to avoid injury with your favorite activities with a specific plan devoted specific to you.
